Parks and Recreation Month

  • This July, join the City of Coconut Creek in celebrating Parks & Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), including fitness activities, sports, outdoor activities, craft projects, and much more.
  • Throughout July, various activities will be held at numerous locations within the City of Coconut Creek.
    • Please scroll down to view Parks & Recreation Calendar of Events for dates, times, and locations of activities.
    • Certain activities require pre-registration and have age requirements.
  • For activities that require pre-registration:
    • Register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or by walk-in at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, or at the Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road
    • You must have a WebTrac account before registering online.

Week 2

Activity: Pic and Post with a Park Ranger
When: Monday, July 10th to Friday July 15th

What: Visit our local parks and seek out our friendly Creek Park Rangers, who eagerly await to meet you and your family. Discover the picturesque beauty of our parks as you strike a pose with a Ranger and share your moments on social media using the hashtags: #CreekRangers or #CreekParksandRec

Unleash your inner explorer, create lasting memories, and let the world witness the joy of our community's love for parks. Join us today and be a part of this fun experience!

Where: Creek Park Rangers will be stationed at the following parks, providing the perfect opportunity for visitors to capture memorable moments:
• Windmill Park, 700 Lyons Road: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm
• Sabal Pines Park, 5005 NW 39 Avenue: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm

In addition to these locations, depending on the time of day, you may also find a Ranger at:

Activity: The Creek Outdoors

When: Friday, July 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

What: Participants (ages 6 to 12) will get to experience how to set up a tent, scavenger hunt, identify local trees and wildlife, and close out the night with the roasting of s’mores.

Where: Pine Pavilion at Sabal Pines Park, 5005 NW 39 Avenue

Cost: $10 for Coconut Creek residents; $15 for non-residents

Week 3

Activity: Creek Fit Summer Olympics Week

This July, in honor of NRPA’s National Parks and Recreation Month, Creek Fit will be hosting our five-day-long Summer Olympics from July 17th through July 21st. Prizes will be given for participation and completion of challenges. Challenges and workouts must be completed in the presence of a fitness staff member at either. No online registration available.

Monday: Senior Summer Games
Seniors will compete in fun, Olympic-style events

Tuesday: Cognitive Chaos Challenge
Exercise your brain with various cognitive challenges provided by Creek Fit.

Wednesday: Cross Creek Fitness Scavenger Challenge
Find clues all around coconut creek and for a chance to win a reward

Thursday: Triathlon Thursday
Creek Fit’s unique triathlon program will put participants’ fitness to the test.

Friday: Olympic Circuit Challenge
Complete a full circuit program for a chance to win a prize

Where: Creek Fit North, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, or Creek Fit South, 1100 Lyons Road

All participants must sign a waiver. Ages 12 to 17 years must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign a waiver. Ages 12 to 14 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to participate.

Week 4

Tuesday, July 25th: Arts & Crafts with Tori

Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard

  • Create fun arts & crafts project with Tori

Wednesday, July 26th: Family & Friends Board Game/Trivia Night

Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard

  • Families and friends will enjoy playing a variety of games

Friday, July 28th: Family Bike-A-Thon

Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard

  • Come out with your bikes to ride around the track

Saturday, July 29th: Family Fun Day

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard

  • Various activities for everyone to enjoy

Additional Information:

  • All activities are free for all ages and do not require pre-registration.
  • All participants must sign a waiver prior to the event.
