How do I Join CERT?

Volunteers interested in CERT can click here to fill out a form or you could send an email with "CERT Member" in the subject line. Please include your full name, address, subdivision and phone number.


How to Get Involved

To join CERT, volunteers must complete a 5-week CERT Academy, fully funded by the City. During this academy, you’ll receive hands-on training in emergency preparedness, disaster response, basic medical aid, fire safety, and more—all led by experienced instructors from Coconut Creek Fire Rescue.

Recommended FEMA Training for Interested CERT Members

Anyone interested in CERT can take the independent study course offered by FEMA. The course is between six and eight hours and serves as an introduction to CERT. This course does not certify you to become a CERT volunteer.

Required FEMA Training for New CERT Members

These classes need to be completed prior to the completion of the CERT course. The classes take approximately 2 hours and can be accessed through the following website:

Join the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Coconut Creek Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a dedicated group of trained volunteers who are passionate about keeping our community safe and prepared. These community-minded individuals play a vital role in supporting the City and their neighbors before, during, and after emergencies or disasters.

As a CERT member, you’ll be part of a strong network of over 100 trained volunteers who work side by side with Coconut Creek Fire Rescue. Whether it’s providing first aid at City events or stepping up during times of crisis, CERT members are a trusted resource in times of need.
