PSA Ofc. Keisha Hicock

Her father told her the sky was the limit. As long as she was willing to put in the work, he said, she could be anything she wanted to be. PSA Keisha Hicock's primary goal since her youth has been to lend a helping hand to whoever needs it. This will help you get to know her since she is our next feature in our ongoing Blue Honor Series.

Born in Jamaica, she came to South Florida in 1997. She joined the City of Coconut Creek in 2004, working in the Parks & Recreation Department. In 2007, she moved over to the Police Department as a Police Service Aide (PSA). She had always been interested in law enforcement, earning an Associate's Degree in Crime Scene Investigation from Broward College a few years before. It was one of two associate's degrees she was awarded while there. The other was in Aviation.

A two-time Civilian Employee of the Month at the Police Department, she says the fact that her daily work is exciting, and the fact that no two situations are the same, are among the many aspects of civil service she enjoys. Her commitment to customer service has its roots in that wise advice given by her father all those years ago.

A young mother motivated to find a successful career, she gave her son similar guidance. He is now a successful field operations associate for a chain of funeral homes here in South Florida. She has a twin sister who is a physiotherapist here in Florida, an older sister who is a doctor in Kentucky, a younger sister still living in Jamaica, and a brother who is currently serving in the United States Navy.
Still living by that "sky is the limit" mantra, PSA Hicock is celebrating her 16th anniversary as a City of Coconut Creek employee this week. She is a valuable member of our CCPD family and proof positive that, if you're not afraid of hard work, you can be anything you want to be.
