Officer Donald Davis is the feature officer in this week’s Blue Honor Series. He was born in Texas but raised in LaBelle, Florida, which is east of Fort Myers. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barry University with a degree in Public Administration in 2017.
He knew from an early age that he wanted to help people and was drawn to a career in law enforcement as a way to fulfill that mission. He joined the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 as a Corrections Officer and worked his way up the ranks to a Field Training Deputy, Corporal, Detective, and Sergeant on Road Patrol. He was also a member of the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.
In 2016, he joined the Coconut Creek Police Department and progressed into the important role of a Field Training Officer, teaching and mentoring younger officers. In 2018 he was appointed to the Traffic Unit. He is a Motorcycle Officer and a Crash
Investigator with our Traffic Homicide Investigation Team. He now supervises all of Traffic Services.
Officer Davis is also a husband and a father. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, weightlifting and, of course, riding motorcycles, with Harley Davidson being his favorite.
