ISO Class 1 Rating
Coconut Creek Fire Rescue earned the distinction of Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) – the highest achievable score. An ISO fire rating is a score earned by fire departments and provided to insurance companies. The score reflects how prepared a community is for fires in the areas of investigation, fire safety education, hydrant flow testing, water supply system locations, and training to name a few categories. A good, or low ISO score indicates that a fire is not likely to severely damage or decimate a building, therefore, potentially allowing for slightly lower home insurance rates.

Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services
Accredited in October 2024
The Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) was established to encourage and promote quality patient care in medical transportation systems. CAAS is an independent Commission that established a comprehensive series of standards for the ambulance service industry.
CAAS accreditation signifies that your service has met the “gold standard” determined by the ambulance industry to be essential in a modern emergency medical services provider. These standards often exceed those established by state or local regulation. The CAAS standards are designed to increase operational efficiency and clinical quality, while decreasing risk and liability to the organization.
The process includes a comprehensive self-assessment and an independent external review of the EMS organization. This independent process provides verification to your Board of Directors, city council, medical community and others that quality care is provided to the community.
All ambulance systems are eligible for the three-year accreditation including private, public, fire department and hospital-based.

Commission on Fire Accreditation International® (CFAI)
Currently in Progress
The Commission on Fire Accreditation International® (CFAI) accreditation opens the pathway to self-assessment and enhanced community alignment. They exemplify organizations that are strategic-minded and well-organized, are properly equipped, staffed, and trained.
Agency accreditation is an international recognition of achievement. It shows your community that your agency continually self-assesses, looks for opportunities for improvement, and is transparent and accountable through the application of a true third-party verification and validation process.
