Home Safe Home visits Olivine
You've heard of "Home Sweet Home." But how bout "Home Safe Home?"
Home Safe Home is one of our community services initiatives. We crunch the numbers and figure out which communities need to be reminded to lock their doors and bring any valuables inside. Earlier this week, Officer Picotte and Officer Torres were at Olivine in the Township. While the number of stolen vehicles here in Coconut Creek is down slightly compared to this time last year, Olivine led the city in first quarter (January- March) auto thefts with 4. All of them were left unlocked with a with a key fob possibly in it.
The officers talked to Olivine residents as they arrived home from work, giving some of them our crime prevention brochures. It's important to remember to lock your cars at night so that thieves aren't rewarded for visiting your neighborhood and it'll be "home safe home" for everybody.
