The Coconut Creek Police Department wishes to update the public regarding a homicide that occurred on April 20, 2024. The Coconut Creek Police Department responded to the area of the Winston Park Nature Trail in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male juvenile with several visible stab wounds. The juvenile victim was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The subject, also a juvenile, had fled the area on foot prior to police arrival. During the investigation, detectives determined that the decedent made arrangements via social media to sell narcotics to the unfamiliar subject. When the decedent arrived to conduct the transaction, the juvenile subject attempted to rob him and an altercation took place. The juvenile subject, who was armed with a knife, stabbed the decedent multiple times. Detectives identified the juvenile and later authored an arrest warrant for the charge of felony murder. The juvenile subject was apprehended by on June 10, 2025 in conjunction with the Coconut Creek Police Department.
